We challenge you to help build (mini-game) experiences for our VR center.

Challenge 1: VR Rowing Competition

We would like to develop a VR rowing competition game using Unreal Engine. Enversed can provide a basic environment.

  • Develop intuitive and responsive controls for each player to handle one oar in VR, ensuring smooth and synchronized rowing motions.
  • Creating a physics model for the canoe that responds accurately to the players’ inputs, simulating the feel of rowing on water.
  • Designing mechanics that require coordination and communication between players to successfully navigate and compete.

Ideally, we want to create a game where two players row together, each controlling one oar.

Challenge 2: VR Garden

A mini-game where the player trims typical English bushes and greenery into specific shapes; a 3D version of Zen Blade. The player must avoid incorrect pruning or removing the beautiful parts of the plants. The focus is on quick tasks with increasing difficulty, suitable for a party-game atmosphere.

  • Developing a fast-paced gameplay loop with quick, escalating challenges to keep players engaged.
  • Implementing intuitive VR controls that allow for precise trimming actions in a 3D space.

Challenge 3: Murder Mystery Mini-games

An ongoing project involving AI-based physical escape rooms where players interrogate characters, investigate scenes, and solve touchscreen-based mini-games. We aim to prototype engaging mini-games (3-5 minutes each) focused on solving and analyzing evidence related to a murder. These games are the pure essence of game design—simple in concept but challenging to execute effectively.

Not VR, so designing intuitive touchscreen controls that are easy to learn but offer depth in gameplay.
